Content Engine
Data Deletion
Effective May 7, 2026
You have the right to request that we delete your personal information and any data we have collected from connected platforms (such as Instagram). This page explains how.
1. Disconnect Instagram (instant)
The fastest way to stop Content Engine from collecting any further data from your Instagram account is to disconnect it.
- Inside Content Engine: open Settings › Connected Accounts and click Disconnect Instagram. Our access token is revoked immediately and we stop receiving any further data, including webhooks.
- Directly in Instagram: open Settings › Apps and Websites › Active and remove Content Engine. Instagram revokes our access on their side, even if you cannot reach our app.
2. Delete your account and all data
To delete your Content Engine account and all associated data — including Instagram data, drafts, schedules, insights, and account settings — you have two options:
- From the app: open Settings › Account › Delete Account and confirm.
- By email: write to kate@weare-4d.com from the email address on your account, with the subject Data deletion request. We will confirm receipt within 3 business days and complete deletion within 30 days.
We may retain a minimal amount of information for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not retain Instagram access tokens or content beyond what is required.
3. Meta-initiated deletion (Data Deletion Callback)
If you remove Content Enginefrom Instagram’s Apps and Websites settings, Meta sends us a signed deletion request on your behalf. When we receive that request, we automatically delete the data associated with your Instagram user ID within 30 days and provide a confirmation URL that Meta can use to track the request.
Our data deletion callback endpoint, registered with Meta, is:
https://content-engine.weare-4d.com/api/meta/data-deletion
You do not need to call this endpoint yourself — Meta calls it automatically when you revoke access on their side.
4. What gets deleted
When you delete your account or your Instagram connection, we remove:
- Your Instagram OAuth access token (revoked and purged).
- Profile metadata pulled from Instagram (username, bio, ID).
- Drafts, scheduled posts, captions, and uploaded media assets.
- Insights and metrics we cached for your account.
- Comments, mentions, and webhook payloads we received.
- Account settings and preferences.
5. What we may retain
We retain the following only as long as legally required, and never for marketing or analytics purposes:
- Billing records, where required by tax and accounting regulations (typically up to 7 years).
- Limited audit logs of significant security events (such as login activity tied to a security incident under investigation).
6. Confirmation
Once deletion is complete, we will email you confirmation at the address on file. If you no longer have access to that email, let us know in your deletion request and we will confirm by another method.
7. Questions
Email kate@weare-4d.com with any question about data deletion. We respond to every request from a real person.
